A2L transition — informational path
Mildly flammable (A2L) refrigerants are driving tool and training upgrades. This path is informational: what to check in manufacturer literature — not DIY conversion, charging, or “safe enough” improvisation guides.
Compliance: A2L content here is informational and points you at manufacturer documentation and training.
We do not provide DIY conversion, charging procedures, or legal advice. Licensed practice + labeled instructions win.
Prioritize
- Confirm recovery machine A2L / refrigerant-class statements from current OEM docs (date-stamp them)
- Leak detectors with published support notes for the refrigerants you service
- Hose / fitting / pressure-class awareness from manufacturer literature
- Manufacturer and third-party A2L training courses (study / skills — not a license substitute)
- Probe / manifold ecosystem compatibility with the refrigerants and pressures on your trucks
Failure modes to watch
- Assuming “it worked on R-410A” equals A2L-ready without checking manuals
- Invented compatibility claims from forums without primary-doc corroboration
- Skipping labeled PPE / safety guidance in OEM and training materials
- Treating affiliate course purchases as proof of legal certification status
